Close to a year ago, I found out about a platform that offers skills teaching online. For example, you search for the topic learn photoshop and similar courses will show. You pay for the course and start learning whatever topic you’ve chosen instantly.
It’s really a different way of looking at what’s available online not only for instructors and those with the teaching mentality, but also people that are eager to learn.

What Does This Photoshop Course Offer?
In this course, you will know how to learn Photoshop step-by-step. I decided to go from the fundamentals so I could show others what the needs are of the software. There’s a practical approach to learning Photoshop and I really think it pays to know the beginning stages instead of going right into the more advanced material.
There was a ton of time put into the course and it’s packed with 40 lectures! It’s an overall total of about 3 hours of content. It was fun to make and I’m eager to make it even better from feedback with students.
Here are some examples of what’s in the course:
- Complete setup of the program from the start
- How to set preferences for an efficient workflow
- Creating a workspace for easier navigation
- The importance of keyboard shortcuts
- How to save time with exporting
It’s designed for those that are a novice with no experience or you’ve been hesitant to learn Photoshop. The tutorials are at a great pace to follow along and start mastering the software.
On YouTube and other platforms, I watch a ton of Photoshop tutorials and videos to increase my knowledge of the program. What I usually find is that the instructors are overly (is that a word?) simple. In other words, some of the instructors/teachers/Youtubers act like some people have never used a computer before. And, I think if you’re a person that is still learning how to run a computer, maybe you shouldn’t be learning Photoshop yet!
Don’t get me wrong, there are excellent people out there teaching the subject. The people that are passionate are the ones that I like to follow because they would do everything for free (although they shouldn’t). But it does show when they are teaching Photoshop how much knowledge they really have in the program.
Tell Me Why I Should Learn Photoshop?
If you aren’t a designer, marketer, or a social media manager, you may not know how the images on the web are created. They all have to be made in some sort of software. Maybe it’s from your smartphone, your computer, or a tablet. Many of the effects like text and other parts of pictures on the internet are designed from a program like Photoshop.
You can start charging clients for graphic work or if you’re interested in being involved in web design, Photoshop will certainly give you the skills to become a professional in image editing. It’s beneficial for more than just these things as you can create 3d elements and also video. Many people that learn Photoshop don’t even know this!
This course also aligns with #2 and #5 of my short term bucket list. It’s important that you stick with the skills you know and want to show others in order to run a happy life. At least this is my belief.
Is This A Typical Photoshop Training Course?
The thing about my teaching style is that I want people to know the fastest way. Whether that’s in Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, or any other Adobe Creative Cloud software, it doesn’t matter. I’m all about keyboard shortcuts and getting your workflow to be quick and efficient.
So, while you’ll learn a lot of the fundamentals and probably other stuff people might be teaching, rest assured that you’ll gain efficient skills in the course more than just a click here, drag it, let go of the mouse type of approach.
I also show how you can speed up the Udemy course material by using the speed options on the video. You can go as fast as 1.25x, 1.5x, or even 2x. Most of the YouTube videos I watch are at two times the speed so I can intake the information quickly and in the same time re-watch it.
Why Make Another Course to Learn Photoshop on Udemy?
Looking over the marketplace, I did see that there are many other Photoshop for beginners courses on the site. But, many of them didn’t take an efficiency approach. That just might be my way of being different in the marketplace given that I can promote the course properly. It’s a big deal to know how to market yourself — especially in the midst of all of the competition.
Another aspect I looked at was that I love to learn Photoshop myself. So, I thought it would be helpful to put those skills out in the open to show others the software. I’d be lost without the program and am so happy I discovered it a long time ago.
Will There Be Any Other Photoshop Training Courses?
Of course! I plan to make many more courses on Udemy. The platform was very intuitive and they just started a new course management update to make the process even smoother. They have a great review team for the course and I even received feedback from things that could be improved to make my course better.
Courses are really a new way that’s starting to take off in the online world. It’s cool how we can use our existing knowledge and skills to share them with practically anyone on Earth. If you’re thinking about teaching a topic, you can definitely check out their platform.
What is the Price of the Learn Photoshop Course?
As of October 2016, the price is set at $70. I do plan to run promotions time-to-time in order to gather some students from different areas. Even though I love what I do, I have to make some money to pay the bills! Once I start making other courses and begin to earn more revenue, I may adjust the pricing, but we’ll see when I get there.
Thanks for being here; it really means a lot to me.
